Even the Tea Party, who articulate slogans and ideas closer to the ideals of limited government than anyone else today, aren't ready to part with the system of socialized medicine we currently have.

It's the People's Fault

By now it's plain to nearly everyone that Republicans are getting nowhere in massively cutting the budget and limiting the scope of the federal government. It's tempting to blame the politicians themselves.

"Those politicians!" it could be said. "They won't honor the will of the people!"

But what actually is the will of the people? To get an answer, look no further than a recent McClatchy-Marist poll. Look at what people who identify themselves with the budget-cutting Tea Party say they want.

According to the poll, 70 percent of Tea Party advocates want no cuts to Medicare or Medicaid. Contrast this with the rest of the population, 80 percent of whom want no cuts.

The Medicare and Medicaid programs are the ones most responsible for the spiraling federal deficit that the Tea Party opposes more than anyone else in Washington D.C.

What does this tell you, assuming the poll is accurate? That it's not individual rights, freedom and capitalism animating the Tea Party or Republicans in general. It's simply a desire to be seen as opposing a federal deficit. In other words, it doesn't matter what causes the deficit. It doesn't matter what faulty thinking the deficit is built upon. For example, the idea that the federal government is responsible for providing medical care to the entire population is a faulty idea. It enslaves those who are able and willing to provide their own health care into the servitude of those unable or unwilling. It also ruins the free market, making it difficult or impossible for anyone -- even the able and willing -- to purchase their own health insurance outside of a government-run system.

The poll revealed 92% of Democrats, 73% of Republicans and 75% of independents also oppose the cuts. Note that self-described independents are the ones who determine elections. Most of them voted for Obama in 2008, and most of them voted for Republicans in 2010. If Democrats highlight the issue of Medicare and Medicaid in 2012, the only remaining question will be: How big a landslide for Obama?

Tea Party Terrorists: Joe Biden the Court Jester Strikes Aga

The people who persist in saying Washington D.C. is destroying this great nation are the ones who are called terrorists. Our real destroyers are Joe Biden, Barack Obama and their Republican counterparts like John Boehner, who play along with the game.

On TV crime and court shows, you sometimes see the attorney, during a trial, say something outrageous and indefensible. The opposing attorney immediately objects and the judge backs up the objection. The attorney who said the outrageous statement replies, "Withdrawn." He knew his claim would never stand up. He was just appealing to the jury's emotions.

This is what Joe Biden, our national Court Jester, recently attempted, apparently with great success. He reportedly called Tea Party supporters and other opponents of his policies "terrorists." Of course, once confronted he backed down and claimed he never said such a thing.

Is he telling the truth? Who knows? Politicians lie for a living, and Joe Biden has been at this for more than four decades.

What we know for sure is that supporters of all things socialist, Biden and Obama included, don't like dissension. They know that reason, facts and logic are not on their side. They don't care. They want what they want, and they consider anyone who dares to challenge or disagree with them downright evil. So much for the “era of civility” liberals demand of others but never apply to themselves.

The Glorious Achievement of the Tea Party Movement

Tea Party Republicans. It is a tag to be embraced. It is a clear distinction that separates us from politics-as-usual-Republicans and Democrats.

It was the first two years of protest. Others had taken the initiative to start a Tea Party. We joined them and supported their efforts with our time, our work, our ideas and dollars. We helped to organize events and rallies, make signs, distribute thousands of flyers, print hundreds of petitions and wove our way through rally crowds to gather signatures.

We visited our Congressmen's offices, wrote our Senators, phoned Legislators, attended City Council meetings and commissioner and district meetings. We joined parades and yelled ourselves hoarse for our chosen candidates. We sweated bullets during summer events and froze our fingers and toes during winter's. We registered voters and became poll challengers and poll workers. Sometimes we worked through the night answering queries and often rose in the morning to start work without taking time to change out of our pajamas. We cheered when others honked in support of our efforts and laughed at our own exhaustion.
